Level 2 Epilepsy Awareness



The course will cover the various types of seizures and outline the difference in their impact on an individual. It will further explain the various emergency help and risk assessment procedures required to manage treatment for a person suffering epileptic seizures. This course is for all healthcare workers, social care providers and individuals who care for people suffering from epilepsy.

At the end of the session learners will:

  • Understand what epilepsy is and its prevalence in the UK

  • Know the cause of epilepsy, the symptoms and how it is diagnosed

  • Know what a seizure is and the main types

  • Understand how epilepsy is treated

  • Have an awareness of the common epilepsy drugs and their side effects
